Weekend Getaway

Yesterday, me, Jay-ar and two of his friends [Francis and Ryan] went to Malacca for our weekend getaway. Yay! I super enjoyed this trip. It was sooo worth the hassle of waking up very early… Oh yeah, Jay-ar & I woke up around 5:30 am. And am not used to waking up that early nowadays. Anyway, we met up with Ryan and Francis at PWTC LRT station then we arrived at the bus station roughly around 7:00 am. We left Kuala Lumpur at 7:30 and it was a 2-hr drive. Kinda far if you’ll think about it coz there was no traffic jam. So we reached Malacca at 9:30 am. Though we have eaten our breakfast at home, all of us were so hungry when we reached Malacca so we ate our breakfast or should I say brunch at Pizza Hut there. So you see, we came a long way just to eat at Pizza Hut in Malacca. Hahaha!

Anyhoo, after eating, we brought out our cameras and we started our kodakan moments. By the way, for those of you who are wondering what the heck is Malacca, well aside from clicking HERE to find out, I will also give you my own description in a very layman’s term. Hehe! Malacca is a very historical place in Malaysia. Because of its wealth, the Portuguese arrived in this place to conquer the land. I think that’s why there are some Catholic churches in that place. Christ the Church, St. Paul’s Church and St. Peter’s Church are just to name the few. This is like Intramuros or Corregidor in the Philippines, which also hold relevant events happened centuries ago.

Here are some of the photos we took during our kodakan moments.

Jay-ar & I playing around like kids at the fountain. Hehe!

Here are some of the other pictures taken at Malacca

But our trip didn’t end there. After lunch, around 2 in the afternoon, we decided to visit another place not so far away from Malacca. Well, if a one-hr drive is already considered far then let me change my previous statement… Erase! Erase! Erase! We decided to visit another place that was FAR AWAY from Malacca. The place is called A’Famosa Resort [read as ey-famosa]. We reached there around 3 pm already. We took a cab from Malacca to A’Famosa. Jay-ar was insisting when we reached the place that the travel time could have been reduced to 30 minutes if only the cab driver used at least 3rd gear of his cab. Hehe! And I agree with him not because he’s my husband but I really think he has a point there. Am not sure though if it was the cab’s problem or the driver’s. The cab’s driver was a 71-yr old Chinese man [yeah, we asked him of his age. hehe!] and he was driving his cab in a very slow pace that it seemed that he was our tour guide and he wanted us to appreciate all the things that we were passing through. Haaay naku! As in, we were so bagal tlaga. So I guess that’s the reason why all of us were asleep during half of the travel time.

Anywayz… as I have said, we also went to A’Famosa Resort. It is a theme park, golf resort, safari and many more in one. The park is divided into 4 parts. First is the Animal World where you can ride a camel, go to safari and watch animal shows like Elephant, Bird and Multi-animal Shows. You can also visit the Monkey Island and experience a close encounter with the monkeys. You can even get to feed them. We did try feeding them. They were so cute – those little monkeys! Then there was also the Water World – basically lots and lots of different kinds of swimming pools. You can try the body slide and the tube slide but we did not go to this one. We were so lazy to bring swimsuits and towels so we just decided to stay dry. And besides, next weekend we are going to Tiara Beach Resort so no need to go swimming for now.

Another thing there is the Cowboy Town. Cowboy Town has restaurants, disco, beer garden, shopping village, pub, game center, bowling alley, children theme park and funfair. You can feel the western ambiance once you enter the town coz you will see the rustic buildings, antiques, cowboys and cowgirls, country songs and stunt shows. Unfortunately, we were not able to see all the shows as we just arrived in the afternoon. We missed all the happenings in the morning.

Then the last part is the Golf Resort itself. It is only available to those rich people who are members of the golf club and obviously we are not members so this part was off limits to us and am not interested as well so thank you very much.

...And the elephant SCORREESSS!!!

The big and small elephants. Haha! Joke lang ayat. The reason why Jay-ar was smiling like this in the pic is because when he was posing for this pic, the elephant's long nose was tapping his shoulders. Hehe! Maybe the elephant was saying, "hey, move a little bit, you are blocking me from the camera!" haha!

Me feeding the cutie litol monkeys while singing monkey monkey anabelle... harharhar!

OMG! We were captured by Indian pana kakana kanas... Or were we? If yes, then why Jay-ar & I were smiling. Haha! I think I got it all wrong. We were not captured, I was reigned as the new queen of the panas! Hail your mighty queen! Cool!

And here are some of the video clips of the Bird and Elephant Show and when we were feeding the cutie monkeys. Watch it coz am sure you are going to enjoy these. Those cutie little birdies and those big elepantes. Hehe! Enjoy watching…

The birds were singing Happy Birthday. They were sooo cute.

Now watch the Kobe Bryant counterpart in the elephant kingdom doing its sweet moves.

This is my paborit video clip. We were feeding those cutesy litol monkeys... They were sooo adorable. Gusto ko ngang mag nenok ng isa. Kasyang kasya ang isang monkey sa backpack ko. Hahaha!

Nyay! I was feeding the elephants. Super natakot ako. Nde ko nga malapitan. Wala tuloy akong matinong kuha with the elephants. Baka kasi bigla akong buhatin using its nose. Kayang kaya kaya aku nun. But anyway, I was able to feed them so that was my accomplishment one-ow-one. Hehe!

Now watch the birdies say "How are you?" in different languages. Buti pa sila multi-lingual. Haha! Smart Birdies talaga!

More pictures and videos HERE. Next stop… Tiara Beach Resort!!!
